At the Races in Meridian

Ten years ago Peggy joined me in New York for her first time at the Met Opera. This week we (accidentally) commemorated that event when we both happened to be in Idaho at the same time and she invited me to the speedway in Meridian. It’s quite possibly the most redneck thing I’ve ever done and it was amazing. It helped that Peggy had grown up doing this so I got all her enthusiasm and inside knowledge. My only regret: not staying long enough to see it devolve into a demolition derby involving pickup trucks pulling boats!

I don’t know… going hunting on the day of your sibling’s wedding feels pretty redneck too…. 🙂

I would love to have seen the boats on trailers as well! That’s kinda crazy… -Lady
