Progress at the little house

Quick overnight trip to Boise this weekend to check on the renovation project. The house has been gutted, reframed, and newly outfitted with HVAC and natural gas. It’s ready for drywall, floors, and the rest—and since the historic district approval came through on Friday, we’ll be able to get started in earnest on the next few weeks. Woohoo!

I’m excited about the archway, though I’m debating whether to change the form of the arch.

With no walls, it’s easy to see just how small the house is. And fun to imagine how it will look when finished.

With no heat and temps below freezing, the house was not a place to linger for longer than necessary. I spent the rest of the day at the parents’ and visiting with Heather and Brynn—which means the little house is already doing what it’s meant to do.
