Not the week to travel

I was supposed to start the new year off with a business trip to Washington DC. A series of meetings and onboarding a new team member. Last week when snow and record low temperatures shut down all travel out of Seattle I rescheduled my flight, pushing it out to today thinking the additional day would reduce the risk of weather-related disruptions. Alas. Although the rains have now washed the snow from Seattle’s streets, a separate storm system dumped snow on DC last night. Flight canceled.

The upside: I get to sleep in my own bed. Less chance of exposure during the omicron spike. The downside: Another week of work-from-home monotony. Sigh.

UPDATE: In other news, Alaska has helpfully rebooked me on a flight tomorrow night. To San Francisco. Lol.

I suspected this is how your travel plans would turn out. But, at least you’re home and not stuck waiting things out in the DC airport!

You are likely much safer at home these days!

    1. Yeah, you’re right. DC isn’t doing well with the omicron variant.
