Hiking and grilling and 75 degrees

This past week has been the best week of weather we’ve had all year so far. Day after day of clear sun—and sun in the Pacific Northwest is hard to beat. On Thursday and Friday I worked most of the day on my roof deck. Today we went on a hike to Bridal Veil Falls and the Cascades were crystal clear. When we got back it was over 75 degrees in Seattle so I quickly popped in all the window screens and opened all the windows, letting the fresh air flow through the house for the first time since last summer. And tonight for dinner we revved up the old grill and enjoyed our first rooftop grill of the season. What a difference a little sun and warmth and being outdoors can make!
