Packing up

After three years my time in London is coming to an end! one month from tomorrow I will be starting in a new role in a Seattle. Which means that between now and then I need to pack up my life here in London, move (almost) halfway around the world, and set up camp in my new/old home.

Amazingly enough, I’m basically ready to go. The movers came on Tuesday to survey my things, so I pulled everything out and got it all organised. Whereas I came with nothing but clothes and my chair, I’ll be going home with clothes, my chair, and a potentially alarming quantity of dishes and art.

The movers will come back next Friday to cart everything off, and I will fly out a week or two later—I’m still arm-wrestling with my boss over the exact travel date….

All that’s left to do now is pack my suitcase with the clothes I’ll need during those transition weeks and then sit back and relax (and by “sit back and relax” I mean deal with the gazillion other things that go into changing jobs, cities, countries, lives…).

And so it begins! Wishing you all the best for a smooth transition. Can’t wait to see “all the things” in person! 😊
