Can’t we be merry?

Last Sunday during our Elders Quorum lesson on what’s going to happen after the Second Coming, we learned that, according to Brigham Young, life during the Millennium is going to be pretty much like it is now.  For example, people will “eat and drink and will wear clothes.”  If you ask me, that’s pretty disappointing.  Not because we might want clothing to be optional for those who have been resurrected (talk about a perfect body!) but because I’d kind of hoped that after the apocalypse the whole ban on “eating and drinking and being merry for tomorrow we die” would be lifted.  I mean, surely it wouldn’t be bad to say “eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we get twinkled”?  But no, looks like the ban will only be partially lifted:  We’ll get to eat and drink, but still no merry-making.  Just clothes.  Here’s hoping they fit well!

I will be looking forward to the perfect turtleneck! (sans blue visor, however)
