Glacier Day 1: Going-to-the-Sun-Road

After doing Banff last year, Vanessa and I decided to continue the theme and do Glacier National park this year. We flew in in Wednesday—me from Seattle, Vanessa from Chicago—and met in Kalispell. We picked up our bright yellow Jeep and headed out to traverse the famous Going to the Sun Road that was built in the 1920s and showcases some of the most stunning views of the park. The last time I was on that road was in April 2014. I was on my way from DC to Seattle to start a new job, and stopped to see Ashley who was living in Kalispell at the time. The road was closed to vehicles because of the snow, but I was able to cycle up to the snow line with the road miraculously to myself. It was fun this time to see what it looked like without the snow, and to go the full length of the road to the eastern side.
