Granada – Palace of Charles V

As I mentioned in the Alhambra post, the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V built a Renaissance palace on the grounds of the Alhambra.  The most remarkable feature is the giant circular courtyard (some people think it was meant to have a dome).  The Renaissance style is very different from the medieval Islamic architecture of the Alhambra — I very much enjoyed seeing the contrast.
