Today was an exercise in travel adventures that consisted of (1) reading the weather forecast and deciding that we needed to throw out our plans for today and instead do what we’d planned for tomorrow, (2) getting up way before the crack of dawn to drive from Canmore up to Lake Louise where we embarked on a complicated series of shuttle buses for which we had bought all the right tickets for none of the right times/directions but didn’t let that stop us from doing what we wanted to do anyway, and (3) having an absolutely fantastic day of hiking and lakes and perfect weather and doing everything we set out to do and more.
We ultimately rode 3 shuttles, hiked 12 miles, saw 5 lakes, and ate 2 pains au chocolat, before checking into our cozy room at The Post Hotel in Lake Louise. Also? We couldn’t have timed our visit to Larch Valley better if we had tried (we didn’t try). The whole place was peak color and glorious.

So, so gorgeous! Love the color of Lake Louise. Mirror Lake looks like a puddle… What a great time of year to be there.
