None of the fountains were running today, but they were still lovely. Apparently only the Apollo fountain would run continuously — the others only ran when the king walked by.

A More Gentlemanlike Manner 
When I was at Versaille a few years ago I read about a party or event they do once a year when they turn on all the fountains! Sadly it was the week after my trip there, but it's something I'd love to see! I was there in June and the gardens were amazing! I could have spent hours just wandering the gardens and never make it into the house.
